Nash Blackley is a 2008 RHP/OF/1B with a 6'3'', 192 lb. frame from Bullock NC, who attends South Granville. Named to Top Prospect Team. Blackley has a taller lean build with a strong core. Blackley pithces from a high 3/4 arm slot with a long arm action. He has good arm speed and his arm works well. He has a loose arm and he pitches with effort. Blackley uses tall and fall style mechanics, and maintains good balance through his delivery. He pitches on a downhill plane and uses a deliberate leg kick at balance point. He has solid mechanics and has very good stuff at times. He throws a 12/6 curveball with solid depth to it. Blackley throws a heavy fastball with some sink to it. He gets hard armside run and sink on his change, which is his best pitch presently. At the plate, Blackley starts with a slightly open stance and generates bat speed. He has a quiet approach and can hit the ball to all fields. Blackley is a very good student and an interesting follow.

Nash Blackley is a 2008 RHP/OF/1B from South Granville HS in Bullock, NC with a 6'3", 190 lb. frame. Nash has a tall athletic build and showed off good arm strength at the showcase. On the mound Nash throws from a 3/4 arm slot with good arm speed and projectable velocity. He has a short arm circle and could possibly throw harder with more extension. His fastball had good life on it, but he will need to work on developing his off-speed pitches. At the plate Nash shows good hitting skills with a strong leveraged swing. He is an aggressive hitter who lifts and turns on the ball easily. In the outfield Nash has good arm strength, but was a little slow getting rid of the ball. Nash has a great body to work with and good arm strength. He looks like a solid mid to high level Division I recruit.

Nash Blackley is a 6'3-182 OF/RHP from Bullock, NC. Nash has a tall athletic build that still has three years left to develop even better. He has big time arm strength and will have coaches wanting to see in both in the outfield and on the mound. He showed 86 mph velocity from right field with very athletic actions. Blackley is a good athlete and should only get better. His throws showed good carry and nice backspin. A right handed hitter, he swung the bat with college power. He is strong and his swing can get long at times. He shows good pull power. On the mound, Nash throws from an overhand arm slot with above average arm speed and is very raw from a pitching standpoint. Mechanically, Nash has a strong lower half and a short compact throwing action. Nash will need to develop his off speed pitches and command, but with a few years of development he has the natural ability to become a high level prospect. He was named to the Top Prospect Team as a pitcher and is a very good student as well with a 3.7 gpa.
