Ivanniel Vazquez is a 2014 LHP with a 5-7 133 lb. frame from Luquillo, PR who attends International Baseball Academy and High school. Compact frame, slender build with room to fill. Pitches from a low three quarters arm slot with a medium arm action, deep takeback with a compact release. Soft tossing lefty who really pitched well, showed very advanced pitchability and feel. Doesn't have the kind of size and stuff that attracts a lot of attention but he showed that he can really pitch. High leg kick to delivery, good tailing action on 2-seam fastball, feel for movement and located it to both bottom corners well and was consistently ahead in the count as a result. Big sweeping 1-7 curveball had a lot of depth and good feel, doesn't have bite to be a swing and miss pitch at present but showed ability to spin it into difficult places. Mixes pitches well, athletic defender who gets off the mound well and fields his position actively. Whichever college takes a chance on this undersized lefty who doesn't light up the radar gun will be pleased with his ability to get outs. Excellent student.
