Sawyer Smith is a 2016 OF/RHP with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Cantonment, FL who attends Tate HS. Large projectable frame with a solid athletic build. Starts with a wide base at the plate, has quick hands, good aggressive approach, good level swing, shows bat speed. Makes solid contact at the plate, has strength in his swing, has pop in his bat. Has a short arm action in the outfield, has good arm strength, threw a guy in out in during the games on Friday. Pitches from a low 3/4 arm slot, pitches down in the zone, gets off the mound well, works quick. Pitches on the corners, curveball has 10-4 break with sharp bite, changeup has arm side run. Is an intriguing 2-way prospect to follow and is a good student.
