David Martinelli is a 2013 SS/RHP with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Waxahachie, TX who attends Waxahachie. Large frame, lean athletic build. Primary MIF who really impressed on the mound. Ran fastball up to 90 mph frequently, sat 87-90 consistently. Long arm action, good arm speed, over the top arm slot, arm works well. Good extension, online delivery, gets out front well, solid mechanics, sinks fastball with downhill plane, ball comes out well, remaining projection, good tailing action on fastball, solid potential on 73 mph curveball. Good defensive actions, quick release on throws, smooth arm action, good carry, accurate arm, arm will play on left side of the infield, good body control defensively. Hits from an open stance, quick hands, has lift in swing, good balance, high hand set, line drive plane. Disruptive on basepaths, showed good instincts, runs well. High level two-way prospect.
