Wes Munson is a strong and athletic 6-2, 185 lb senior shortstop from Wisconsin. He has a track record of being one of the top players in Wisconsin and he played up to that level at the showcase. Depending on how he fills out his body, Munson projects as either an offensive shortstop or a top notch defensive third baseman at the next level. He has good feet on defense and is balanced and quick in all his actions. He has the arm strength to play either position. Offensively, Munson's bat plays at a high level. He hits out of a tall, calm stance with good rhythm to the ball. He has quick hands and hits through the ball with good extension out front. His bat speed is very good and will just get better with more strength. He made solid line drive contact but one can see him hitting with power, too. Munson is a well rounded prospect who projects well in all areas of the game. He's a top Division I type of talent. He is also a good student.

Munson is a 6-2, 185 lb junior infielder from Wisconsin with a lean and projectable athletic frame. He had a very good showcase and was able to show all his tools. Munson sparkled on defense both in workouts and in the games. He had good arm strength at 80 mph across the diamond and made several strong, accurate throws in the games. Although he looked comfortable fielding the ball at shortstop, Munson really looked good at third base, where his quickness and balance was obvious and his actions smooth. Munson is a 7.01 runner. He hits out of an upright stance with a line drive swing that produces good bat speed. Munson will drift a bit forward on off speed pitches but was able to keep his hands back and line a couple of nice hits in the games. He projects some gap to gap power in the future as he gets stronger. Munson is a very good student and a solid follow for DI college coaches.
