Carmine DeVito is a 2007 C with a 6'0'', 175 lb. frame from Plainview NY, who attends Holy Trinity. DeVito has a medium sized frame with an athletic build. Defensively, DeVito has quick feet which helps him get a quick release on his throws down to 2B. He moves behind the plate well and has a good idea of how to block pitches. He has nice hands and is a good receiver. At the plate, DeVito starts with an open stance with a wide base. He gets closed well and has busy hands pre-stride. DeVito has a deep load and takes his hands to the baseball well. He has a nice compact stroke and swings on a level path. DeVito has some weight transfer in his swing and he is a front foot hitter. DeVito has good bat speed and keeps his head on the ball well. He has present gap to gap pop with more power potential as he learns to hit with more leverage. DeVito is a good student.

Carmine DeVito is a 2007 catcher from Holy Trinity in Plainview, NY, with a 6'0'', 175 lb. frame. Was named to the Top Prospect Team at the event. Behind the plate he has nice footwork on his throws to second base and he moves well from side to side blocking balls. He does throw uphill and just needs to stay on top of the ball on his throws. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who attacks the ball. He hits from a wide stance with no stride and good balance throughout his swing. There is strength in his hands and he has a powerful swing that makes the ball jump off his bat on contact. Currently there isn't much lift in his swing, so he hits hard line drives, especially to his pull side. With his bat speed and raw power, DeVito should develop more power in the future and learn to drive the ball. He is a must follow who can hit.
