Parker Johnson is a 2014 SS/RHP/C with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from West Des Moines, IA who attends Valley HS. Nice athletic frame, room to get stronger. 7.31 runner, moves to the infield, clean actions with good balance and hands, accurate throws, developing arm strength helped by quick release. Also catches, high set, arm strength shows well, accurate throws, 1.97 best pop time, has potential behind the plate. Right handed hitter, deep hand load, pull approach, tends to cut off swing out front, shows bat speed and some strength, flashed his pull power, line drive swing, likes the ball up in the zone, tends to get longer on pitches low, has hitting tools to continue to develop. Also pitched, low effort balanced delivery, limited lower half use, full arm circle, arm works well. Fastball to 78 mph with occasional sink and run, good feel for change up, soft curveball. Very good student.
