Matthew Huss is a 2014 RHP/3B/OF with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Ione, CA who attends Argonaut HS. Slender athletic build, young look. Full back turn delivery, quick early arm circle, stays on line, hides the ball well, high 3/4's slot, good downhill plane to the plate, repeats well and throws under control. Fastball topped at 82 mph, mostly straight with occasional cutting action. Separate curveball and slider, both show quality spin at times, proper 2 plane shape on both, slider has edge at present but both are keepers. Threw change up in warm ups only, could mix everything together better. Right handed hitter, short swing with early hip rotation, simple swing mechanics, good extension, line drive contact to all fields, handles the barrel well, has a feel for hitting. Athlete who should improve in all areas.
