2004 Underclass National Showcase
Bill Franzke -- Once Franzke, a junior second baseman from Oregon, got his Florida legs under him and relaxed a bit, he put on a very good show for us in Fort Myers. We’re just going to throw out his workouts and first game as nerves. What Franzke showed us the last 2 days was a live bodied young athlete with some quickness and pop in his left handed bat. At 5-9, 160 lb. you wouldn’t expect Franzke to hit with power but he jerked one ball over the right fielder’s head and just missed doing the same with the centerfielder. He also showed the ability to go hard to the opposite field. Franzke impressed us with his hustle and skills in running the bases and his overall approach to the game.
