Chris Thompson is a 2016 OF with a 5-9 130 lb. frame from Simpsonville, SC who attends J L Mann HS. Thompson has a medium sized frame with a young lean build. Defensively he has solid outfield actions with nice footwork to the baseball. He has developing arm strength with online throws. Thompson gets good jumps on the ball and covers ground. At the plate, Thompson is a switch hitter who is presently better from the right side. From the right side he starts with a lower hand set with a slightly open stance. He stays inside the ball well and squares the ball up well. He presently has better bat speed from the right side. From the left side he has the same approach and made contact to all fields. Solid young player, excellent student.
