Andrew Gist is a 2013 LHP with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Cumming, GA who attends Forsyth Central HS. Medium build with good present strength. Gets closed in his delivery, good balance and direction to the plate, quick compact arm action, 3/4's arm slot, good arm speed, a bit cross body on release. Steady mid-80's fastball, mostly straight with occasional late sinking action. Nice change up is best secondary pitch, good movement and deception, maintains arm speed and release point well, soft curveball with big early break, 1/7 shape, can be tightened up. Good command and has the ability to mix things up. Right handed hitter, exaggerated inside swing path, mid field line drive contact, has some strength and handles the barrel well. Good student.
