Riley Ottesen is a 2013 RHP/SS/OF with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Highland, UT who attends American Fork HS. Medium athletic build, good present strength, athletic actions. Balanced on line delivery, 3/4's arm slot, full arm circle, some effort on release, quick arm, tends to cut off out front especially on breaking ball. Consistent mid 80's fastball, good late running life, will cut FB at 81 with intent and occasional depth, FB life broke some bats, have seen up to 89 mph in the past. Hard spinning curveball, sharp and deep at times, trouble commanding curveball. Athletic middle infield actions, light on his feet, shows his arm strength, works through the ball well, 7.17 runner. Rotational swing, has some bat speed, aggressive swing, can learn to use hands better on the inside half. Nice all around player with tools. Good student.

Wide fastball velocity variance, topped out at 89 mph, mostly straight. Big breaking curveball, hard spin and bite. Thrower at present but two potential quality pitches with development. Right handed hitter, rotational swing with good looseness out front, line drive plane, some developing bat speed. Good student.
