Ryan Melnick is a 2014 OF/RHP with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Windermere, FL who attends The First Academy. Medium frame, lean athletic build. Big separation of upper and lower halves in load, long swing generates good bat speed, aggressive approach in the box. Power potential, swings with intent, effort to it, chance to develop over the fence power as he learns to impart backspin and loft the baseball, has the tools. Uses all fields, hard in-game contact. Covers good ground in the OF, made a nice diving catch in game action. Pitches from a three quarter arm slot, long arm action, arm works well. Big sweeping depth to curveball, slider is the harder of his two breaking balls with late break showed good potential. Excellent student.
