Luca Farina is a 2014 OF/RHP with a 6-1 215 lb. frame from Murrysville, PA who attends Pittsburgh Central Catholic HS. Strong thick physical build, mature look. 7.14 runner, moves well in the outfield, good raw arm strength with quick release, good footwork, tends to throw uphill, athletic overall actions. Switch hitter, similar swings both sides, exaggerated inside out approach, has some looseness and raw bat speed, selective hitter, finds the barrel, has the size and strength to unleash his swing and attack. Also pitched, standard leg raise delivery, stays on line, steady mid 80's fastball with occasional cutting action, big sweeping curveball, has some feel for change speeds/shape of curveball, throws strikes. Very good student.
