Sam Hoffman is a 2006 OF/2B from Greenway HS in Glendale, AZ, with a 6'0", 175 lb. frame. Hoffman has a lean and athletic body with room for added strength. In the outfield he has good arm speed on his throws and the ball comes out clean. Hoffman gets good jumps on fly balls in the outfield with good anticipation. Offensively he hits from a straight away stance with quiet hands and no stride. During the games he showed better bat speed than he did in batting practice which is normal of many younger players. Hoffman has a good approach and uses his hands well to stay inside the ball, but he pulls off early at times and can't cover the outer third of the plate. Presently he has solid skills across the board and shows the athleticism to make adjustments. Hoffman is also an excellent student.

Sam Hoffman is a 2006 OF/2B from Glendale, AZ, with a medium frame at 6', 175 lbs. At the plate, he takes a good hand path to the ball from a high hand early load position. He has a level swing plane and he makes solid contact in the zone. Hoffman hits line drives to all fields with good power to the pull side. He has a quick stroke and generates very good bat speed. Defensively, he showed good glove presentation to the ball, with soft hands and a smooth transfer. Hoffman has a strong arm across the infield with good accuracy. He is a smart player and has a good feel for the middle infield positions. Sam is an excellent student as well.
