Chad Nelson is a 2012 RHP/C with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Edmond, OK who attends Heritage Hall HS. Medium athletic build with present strength. Simple leg raise delivery, stays on line and balanced, clean arm circle, tight 3/4's arm slot. Consistent mid 80's fastball, mostly straight. Flashed good depth and sharpness with his curveball, tends to drift out and rush on his curveball at times. Occasional change but showed some feel. Strike thrower with all pitches. Right handed hitter, open bent knee stance, has some strength in swing, likes to get arms extended, some gap power. Sound catching actions, stays compact, accurate on line throws, deliberate footwork. Solid all around player. Good student.

Chad Nelson is a 2012 C/RHP with a 5-10 185 lb. frame from Edmond, OK who attends Heritage Hall. Medium frame with squared shoulders and some present strength, projects for more. Showed good arm strength behind the plate and on the mound. Primary Catcher who impressed at both positions but projects for a slightly higher upside as a Pitcher. Pounded the zone from a good downhill angle. Curveball showed occasional sharp spin with hard downer bite to it, has potential to be a plus second offering. Cuts Fastball to glove side, arm works well and gets good use of strong lower half. Behind the plate showed good arm strength and online throws and receives comfortably. At the plate showed an aggressive swing with strength to it and a level plane.
