Rollin Layton is a 2015 RHP/MIF with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Jacksonville, FL who attends Providence HS. Medium athletic build, some present strength. Sound delivery mechanics with good hip turn, full arm circle, loose fast arm, high 3/4's release. Fastball topped out at 87 mph, good arm side run and sink on fastball, varies breaking ball shape and velocity well, good feel for spinning the ball, 12/6 curveball is sharp at times, slows arm on change up. Throws strikes and works quick, fields his position very well. Right handed hitter, rock back load, quick hands through the zone, short to the ball, hard line drive contact, has hitting tools. Big outfield arm strength. Very good athlete with lots of tools to develop. Excellent student.
