Chmiel is a 5-10 right handed hitting sophomore catcher from Connecticut. He has good strength for a younger player in his upper body. Chmiel hits from a closed stance with high hands and a level line drive swing. He tends to hit flat footed and loses leverage and bat speed at contact. Defensively, Chmiel threw 68 mph during workouts and had workout and between innings pop times in the 2.30 area. Only a sophomore, he has a lot of time to develop.
