Nathan Freiman is a 2005 RHP/1B from Wellesley, MA, with a strong and projectable 6'7", 215 lb. frame. On the mound, he has a loose and easy arm with very good arm strength and arm speed. He has a polished delivery that he repeats well with good balance. His fastball topped out at 90 mph with some arm side life, and it is easy to see him throwing even harder in the Spring. He cuts off his curveball at times, but he gets good bite and has the potential to be a very good pitch for him. Freiman has only been pitching for one year, and he has the chance to be a dominating mid to upper 90s RHP as he matures. He is also a good hitter. He shows good bat speed with raw power. He is patient and recognizes pitches well. As well as Freiman swings the bat, his future seems to be on the mound. He is a super student 4.87/1540SAT who has signed with Duke.

Nate Freimann is a tall, super projectable 6'7/215 RHP/1B from Wellesley, MA. He is very athletic for a big guy, running a 7.1 60 and showing very good defensive skills. He also swings the bat, hits with power and would be a top recruit as a position player. He has outgrown his old position as a catcher, but he was a good one. Nate threw 88 in Tropicana Field, but we are not the only ones who think he will end up minimum mid 90s befor he's done. His mechanics are a bit raw, his CB needs a little work, but his arm works great. It wouldn't be surprising to see this kid becoming one of the most followed prospects for next June's draft. He is also one of the very top students we've ever had at a PG event. 4.87 GPA and 1540 SAT. Nate was invited to the PG AFLAC Showcase in Baltimore, but could not attend.

Nathan Freiman -- Freiman’s program size has gone from 6-5, 190 to 6-7, 215 during the last 4 months and we can tell you that he’s one large young man. We’ve seen Freiman catch frequently and while his athleticism at that size is very admirable, he’s just simply outgrown that position. His tools as a right handed pitcher are very, very good though, and far outstrip anything that he would be able to accomplish as a position player. Freiman threw 4 innings in Fort Myers and dominated, striking out 10 hitters with a boring 84-87 mph fastball, 68 mph curveball and nice 74 mph change up. Freiman has excellent mechanics for a part-time pitcher, with good balance, good on-line drive to the plate and nice extension out front. He did a great job of throwing strikes with all three pitches. This is a junior who could just be scratching the surface of his potential and might end up being a mid-90’s power pitcher in a couple of years. If a college coach would let him swing the bat once in a while, he might just launch one out of the park, too. Freiman is an outstanding student as well. High draft potential on the mound.
