Jonathan Cook is a 2005 shortstop/third baseman from Hilton Head South Carolina with a solid build that shows present strength at 6 ft. 0 190 pounds. He hits from a tall stance with a quiet approach. He has some bat speed and gets good extension on his finish. He makes solid line drive contact from gap to gap, and showed good bat control and goes with the pitch. Defensively, he showed decent arm strength with a long arm action. He has good range with slightly stiff hands that may move into the outfield in the future. He showed good athleticism and ran a 7.17 in the 60 and a 4.62 home to first. His best tool is his bat, and it projects well at the next level. Jonathan is a very good student.

Jonathan Cook is a 6'0", 190 lb. infielder from Hilton Head, South Carolina, with 7 flat sixty speed and 4.40 home to first base times in the game. Defensively he showed average arm strength with 79 mph throws across the infield. Jonathan is a right handed hitter with a narrow stance, and a no load approach with high hands. The high hand/no load approach means that Jonathan will loop his hands under the ball on occasion, but he swings hard and generates very good bat speed. We've seen Jonathan hit at a couple of events, and he hits the ball hard in games, especially when he stays back on the off speed pitches. He's very interesting! Jonathan is an excellent student.

Jonathan Cook is a 2005 third baseman from Hilton Head, SC, with very good present strength. He has some stiffness in his athletic actions, but was a surprisingly good runner, clocking a 6.95 in the 60 and running 4.5 from the right side despite not getting out of the box real well. His arm strength and hands might move him to the outfield in the future. His best tool is the bat. Cook has a good set up and trigger at the plate with a flat bat and some leverage and good bat speed to his swing. You can see some loft in his swing and we’d bet that Cook can lose some balls with metal. He had one nice double up the left centerfield gap and hit the ball consistently solid and hard against live pitching. Cook has a chance to be a real nice player at the college level. Jonathan is a very good student.

Cook is a second baseman who had a strong showing at that position. He was selected to the Top Prospect game and he earned that spot with a well rounded game. He can do a lot on the field starting with his fielding and throwing ability from second. His actions were solid and he played with ease during the workout and in the games. His bat was sharp, and he showed that his hand-eye is very good. He can hit ! He turned a single into a double and showed baserunning ability with his hard-nosed style of play. Watch him for next years recruiting class. Jonathan is an outstanding student.

05 OF with some arm strength. Hit the ball against some good pitching. Needs to work on his overall skills.
