At 6 foot 4 and 170 pounds, Sigfrinius can be considered projectable because of his frame alone. He is a tall right-hander with a tall and fall delivery showing a smooth arm action. His mechanics showed a sound foundation to build on and he displayed the ability to throw strikes. He fell out of balance a little early and opened his hips early which are not difficult adjustments to make. As he works with a pitching coach he should be able to tighten up his delivery and learn to better use his long arms and body to his mechanical advantage. Out of the stretch he appeared to look comfortable and his arm worked even better. His is only a junior, he is very wiry and growing into his frame. He does not yet generate the arm-speed that he will end up with a year from now. We are interested in seeing how much stronger he becomes over the next year or even this year. His fastball was in the mid 70's and his curveball showed 60-62 mph velocity. We did see the makings of a good spin on his curve and think that will end up being an effective pitch for him. With his type of enthusiasm for pitching and work ethic he should make major strides that could be interesting by the time he graduates. With his outstanding smooth arm action and extremely projectable body, he is someone to keep a close eye on. He could easily become one of the many late bloomers we run across every year.
