Jet Butler is a 2006 shortstop from Pensacola, FL with a strong atletic build at 6-2, 185 lbs. He's very projectable, with a young looking body and face. Butler is one of these players who has smooth and easy actions in everything he does. He has a natural rhythm about him that looks like the game is slower than it really is. Offensively, Butler is a switch hitter with a smooth, tension free, balanced swing from both sides of the plate. He has an idea weight shift through the ball and good extension out front. More strength will equal more bat speed which will equal more power. Defensively, Butler's raw tools are only average for shortstop at the next level but he has the actions and makes the plays. He gets good carry on his throws and his balance enables him to make plays on balls to either side. As his bat develops, Butler will have the athletic ability and baseball skills to play any number of other positions if that's necessary. Butler is an outstanding student who has committed to play at Mississippi State.

Jet is a 2006 grad with a good frame and athletic build with plenty of projection. Solid defender with good sure hands and quick smooth actions to play the infield positions. Runs well with usable speed and instincts. Switch hitter with good hard contact ability and will hit either one or two in the line up for a very good college program in a couple of years. Pro scouts will need to see him. Big time potential, keep a close eye on this kid!.
