Gunnar Terhune is a 2006 MIF from Saint Augustine HS in El Cajon, CA, with a 6'0", 180 lb. frame and good lean strength. He ran the 60 in 6.98 and threw 83 mph during infield drills. Terhune has very polished and smooth actions on defense. He gets a good jump on balls and his footwork is very advanced. Offensively, Terhune hits from a narrow, open stance with high hands to start. He has a quick, line drive stroke and shows nice hand strength. Terhune has some gap to gap power, especially to right centerfield. He also showed very nice paitence at the plate and might be the type of hitter a manager wants at the top of the order to get on base in front of the power hitters. Terhune is a polished player overall with top level baseball skills. He's a good student who has signed to go to UC Santa Barbara.
