Greg Coffman is a 2006 outfielder/first baseman from Tampa, FL with a tall lean build at 6-5, 210 lbs. He ran the 60 in 7.42 and threw a solid 83 mph from the outfield during outfield drills. Coffman fielded the ball cleanly and has a smooth, long arm action from the outfield. He's also played some first base in the past. Offensively, Coffman has a crouched stance for a tall athlete, with a wide base and a short stride. He uses his hands well in his swing, with good bat quickness and speed. He showed pull power and the ball jumped off his bat well on contact. More extension is going to equal more power and Coffman has the frame and strength projection to hit for big time power in the future. Coffman is a good student who has committed to South Florida for college.

Coffman is a 6-5, 210 lb senior outfielder from Florida with a very big, athletic frame. He didn't run the 60 but moved very well on defense for a big player and has nice agility. He threw a very impressive 85 mph from the outfield. Coffman should be comfortable at the next level defensively at both positions. Coffman hits out of a wide stance at the plate and hits mostly to the opposite field. He'll flash the big time power you'd expect from an athlete of his size and strength on occasion but needs to make some adjustments to his hitting approach to get more leverage in his swing and fulfill his potential. Coffman is a potential high ceiling talent if he can make those adjustments. He is also a good student.
