Matthew Beninate is a 2007 right handed pitcher from Fort Lauderdale, Flordia who attends Cardinal Gibbons High School. He has a tall athletic pitcher's build at 6'2" 180 pounds. Matthew commands all of his pitches very well. He has good arm speed from his 3/4 arm slot. His fastball had good arm side run on it at 84-86 mph. His slider was very tight at 75 mph and his change up had good sink and fade at 73 mph. Beninate is extremely tough on right handed hitters with his sinking fastball and hard slider. He could very well be a top reliever against right handed hitters in college. He is also an outstanding student.
