David Groux is a 2008 RHP/3B/MIF/OF with a 6'3'', 170 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Bay Area Christian. David has a medium frame with room to add size, and has some present strength. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. He is a high effort thrower who hides the ball well. His curveball breaks 11-5 and he will throw it for strikes. He also has good command of his fastball. He changes speeds effectively and has the ability to keep hitters on their heels. His top fastball velocity was 81 mph, and his top curveball came in at 69 mph. He attacks the zone, and throws a lot of strikes. At the plate he hits with a flat bat path, and looks to pull the ball. His bat stays through the zone, and generates some good pull pop to LF. He is a line drive hitter who can put the ball in play to all fields. David is also a very good student.
