Ezra Josephson is a 5'8" 165 pound 2006 infielder from Key West, Florida who has a small short athletic frame. Ezra is an excellent defensive player. He has very soft hands and gets in very good position to field the ball. His throws come from a quick release and he has solid arm strength. He threw 78 mph across the infield during the workout. Josephson is a good opposite field hitter at the plate. He makes good contact and shows good bat control. He doesn’t try to do too much and he has a very compact swing. He hits from a narrow stance with a low hand set and generates solid bat speed. He has a quiet approach and makes consistent contact. Ezra is also an excellent student with a 4.65 gpa and a 1470 on his SAT.

Ezra Josephson is a 2006 middle infielder from Key West High School in Florida with a 5'8", 160 lb. frame. Josephson comes from a top program and shows that he has been well coached. Defensively he has very good actions with quick feet and soft hands. Josephson has a good first step which helps him cover a great deal of ground, especially to his glove side. He is a very good defensive middle infielder that can make all of the plays, including slow rollers where he shows good body control. At the plate he hits from the left side with a compact swing and solid bat speed. He had a very good batting practice with several line drives. Jospehson makes consistently solid contact and likes the ball from the middle of the plate in. He projects to be a top of the order runner who will put the ball in play and has the bat control to move runners along. He is also an outstanding student.

Josephson is a 5-7 junior second baseman from Key West with a solid body. He has some very nice, usable baseball skills for a smaller type player. Josephson was especially solid on defense during the Showcase. He has soft hands and quick feet and made a number of nice plays during the games, including one sliding catch and throw of a ground ball up the middle that any fielder would have been proud. His arm strength is good for a second baseman. Offensively, Josephson has a quick, short attacking swing from the left side and has some bat speed. He likes to pull the ball but has the bat head skills to move the ball around the field. Josephson is also an excellent student.
