James Dillard is a 2008 OF/P from Greenwich HS, residing in Cos Cob, Connecticut, with a 6'0"/175 pound frame. James has a lean frame. He hits from a slightly open stance and closes well. Dillard has a toe tap trigger and a top hand release. He stays inside the ball well with a line drive swing plane. He does get rotational and long at times. James has long arm action from the outfield with a low 3/4 release at 79 mph. He has solid reactions to the ball defensively and needs to improve the carry on his throws. Dillard pitches from a low 3/4 arm slot with long and loose arm action. His fasrball has slight arm side run at 81 mph and he mixes pitches well. He has a sweeping curveball at 62 mph that will get better as it gets sharper and he improves his command of it. His changeup has slight sink at 72 mph. James is an excellent student.
