Ian Gilley is a 2008 MIF/RHP with a 6'1'', 185 lb. frame from Fort Smith, AR who attends Fort Smith Northside. Ian has a thick and broad shouldered frame with present strength. Defensively he is a slick fielder with good feet and easy fluid actions. He showed range up the middle of the field, and he takes his feet to the ball well. At the plate he hits with a wide base and slightly open stance with a short load and big stride. He takes a very aggressive swing and flashes bat speed. He is a rotational style hitter with a smooth swing and power potential. He has athletic actions all over the field. On the mound he has a good fastball with late arm side movement that topped at 87 mph. His curveball flashes late life, and his arm works loose out of a 3/4 arm slot. He was consistent with his velocity and did a good job working both sides of the plate.
