Jesse Rivera is a 2009 RHP/3B with a 5'9'', 150 lb. frame from Austin, TX who attends Westlake. Rivera has an athletic and slender frame with some present strength. He has good loose arm action on the mound and gets good extension. He does a good job of working down in the zone and gets a lot of ground balls. He has good tempo and mixes in a good slider, and really attacks hitters at the plate. He looks to get ahead in the count and stays around the strike zone. He has solid footwork as a defensive infielder and has a sidearm release on his throws across the infield. At the plate he has a middle of the field approach and his swing path creates some good solid contact. He stays on the ball well. Good prospect, follow.
