Chris Ellis is a 2009 3B/C with a 6'1'', 185 lb. frame from Macon GA, who attends Stratford Academy. Ellis has a medium sized frame with a strong build. Defensively, Ellis throws with a long arm action and has developing arm strength. He plays back on balls too much which causes the ball to play him. With more aggressiveness defensively, he can go get the ball on the hop that he wants to field. Presently he projects at first base on the infield. At the plate, Ellis starts with a very open stance and starts with an upright and tall stance. He stays open throughout and looks to lift the baseball in his swing. He has busy hands in the box and has some power to the pullside. Ellis has some power potential in there as he learns to swing with more balance and leverage. Ellis is a good student.
