INTERACTIVE: PG College Baseball Chat Wrap
COLLEGE BASEBALL TICKET: Week in review (winners/losers plus what we learned)
Florida State certainly didn't have a tremendous week, but hit the road and took two of three from Boston College. Earlier last week, the Seminoles dropped a midweek bout to rival Florida. Even with a couple of setbacks, the Seminoles remain atop the PG Top 50 rankings.
Kentucky remains in the No. 2 spot following a huge road series win over Arkansas. The Wildcats likely would've assumed the top spot in this week's rankings if not for a rough midweek hiccup against Louisville. Meanwhile, LSU moved from No. 4 to No. 3 after another outstanding week, while Florida moved from No. 5 to No. 4 and Texas A&M rounds out the top five after coming in at No. 3 last week.
Baylor and South Carolina entered the top 10 this week. The Bears extended their incredible nation-leading winning streak to 19 games with a road series sweep over Kansas State, while the Gamecocks now have won three-straight SEC series after sweeping Mississippi State at home.
Also worth noting, Oregon climbed from No. 18 to No. 11 after earning a road series win over Stanford, while the Cardinal dropped from No. 7 to No. 13. Arkansas is another team that took a plunge this week, moving from No. 8 to No. 16 after going 1-3 last week with a midweek loss to Oklahoma and a weekend series loss to Kentucky.
Teams that dropped out of this week's rankings include Texas State, Washington, Stetson and Portland. Meanwhile, Gonzaga, Maryland, Tulane and Southeastern Louisiana were new entrants this week.
The PG Top 50 is released each Monday morning during the college baseball season.
