This is the last chance for Mountain West teams to get a crack at TCU.

The Horned Frogs announced last year they were headed to the Big East. But after several realignments sagas took place around the country, they’re now headed to the nearby Big 12 in the fall, meaning this is their final campaign in the Mountain West.

While there’s no doubt the Frogs have a huge target on their back, it’d still be as surprise to see someone unseat them atop the conference standings. After all, TCU joined the league in 2006, and has won every MWC regular season title since then.

The Frogs will have another solid club with sophomore right-handed pitcher Andrew Mitchell leading the way. Meanwhile, talented reliever Kaleb Merck returns to the back-end of the bullpen, while Jantzen Witte, Brance Rivera and Jason Coats spearhead the offensive lineup.

There’s a significant drop off after the Frogs, but New Mexico, UNLV and San Diego State hope to have one last surprise. Meanwhile, Air Force has a couple of very talented players in Garrett Custons and Sean Carley, but must become much more consistent as a whole to become a legitimate MWC title contender.

We take an inside look at the five-team Mountain West.
