You know your schedule is tough when you’re 16-12 and have an RPI of 18.
That’s precisely the situation Stanford is in as it continues Pac-10 play.
The Cardinal began the season with incredibly difficult road series against Rice, Vanderbilt and Texas, and finished the stretch with a 6-5 record with some midweek bouts also sprinkled in there. They also captured a series win over Long Beach State before beginning Pac-10 play with a series win over Washington State.
Stanford hasn’t been the same since.
The Cardinal surprised everyone two weekends ago when they dropped a road series to USC. And the shock turned to disappointment after Oregon State swept them at home last weekend.
