Southern Mississippi might just be the class of Conference USA this season.

The Golden Eagles entered the season with high expectations, and were expected to finish in the top half of the conference standings. But after two weekends of C-USA play, the Golden Eagles -- not preseason favorite Rice -- sit atop the standings with an impressive 5-1 record.
