The left-handed hitting Deichmann has a middle infielder’s build but surprisingly has as much raw power as any high school hitter in the country. He made the upper deck in right field at the Minneapolis Metrodome a regular landing point the last two summers at PG National Showcase events. When he squares a ball up it seems to sound louder than everyone else. Deichmann’s likely future position is second base, and it is hard not to compare his overall tools and profile to the Phillies' Chase Utley. He runs a 6.7 in the 60-yard dash and throws 87 mph across the infield.
