Clarkin shows an advanced feel for a three-pitch mix that includes a fastball, curveball and changeup. He pounds the lower half of the strike zone with his sinking low-90s fastball that peaks around 93/94 mph with the ability to snap off a sharp curveball. His changeup is thrown with the same arm speed and release point as his fastball, making it that much more difficult to identify out of the hand. While he projects as a pitching prospect at the professional level, Clarkin also swings the bat well with a good approach at the plate and a smooth left-handed swing.
