Starlin Pereyra is a 2024 SS with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Santo Domingo, D.R. who attends Cenapec. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength to frame, additional room to grow moving forward. Ran a 7.34 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, plenty of twitch in actions up the middle, quick feet moving to and through the ball, soft hands out front with a fast transfer and release, compact arm action and works on top of throws, strength will continue to develop. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and slightly open stance; utilizes a high hanging leg lift trigger and does a nice job of remaining in controlled. Gets to front side early with weight shift at times but generates extension out front and shows some strength off of the barrel. Long and linear path through the zone, shifts well and remains on time for the most part, projectable tools in the box. Excellent student.
