Kai Maynick is a 2024 MIF/RHP/2B with a 5-10 140 lb. frame from Reno, NV who attends Reno. Features a slender build with room to add. Ran a 7.56 60-yard dash. Primary infielder. Works around ground balls well when body control is maintained. Still developing consistent glove timing on the backhand. Reached 79 mph across the diamond. Right-handed hitter. Utilizes a slightly open stance into a small leg kick timing mechanism. Swings on a slightly lofted path with hand speed present. Shows good intent throughout the swing. Approach is geared toward the pullside. Can drive balls well when squared up. Right-handed pitcher. Uses a semi-windup delivery into drop and drive mechanics. Sinks into the backside hard. Throws from a high 3/4 slot using a longer arm action. Throws with intent. Fastball sat 77-80 mph with armside run. Can work the offering in on right-handed hitters often. Slider at 68-70 mph (2670 rom) with sweeping action. Can generate uncomfortable swings when thrown well. Flashed mid-70’s changeup as well. Used sparingly. Good student.
