Diego Martinez is a 2018 OF/1B with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Strake Jesuit College Prep. Martinez has a medium sized frame with a lean build. Defensively he showed developing actions in the outfield with a big hitch through his transfer and release. Martinez has a long arm action with developing arm strength. He comes to a stop to field the ball and loses momentum to play through the baseball. Martinez made accurate throws and was online. At the plate Martinez starts with a slightly open stance with a high hand set. He has a rotational swing and has a longer barrel path to the baseball. He made spray contact in the BP portion of the showcase and he has a high finish. Martinez has developing bat speed and developing hitting tools. Excellent student.
