Jade Low is a 2019 C/RHP with a 5-8 170 lb. frame from La Crescenta, CA who attends Loyola HS. Medium frame with a solid build. Right handed hitter with a tall, open stance and lower hand set. Hands load to a compact position close to body. Shifts into contact well with linear lower half actions. Compact, direct path to contact with a line drive swing plane. Primarily uses a mid-field approach but shows the barrel skills to work the baseball to opposite field as well. Worked out defensively from behind the plate showing a lower arm cirlce at separation with clean glove to hand exchanges through transition. Feet work to a taller position into throws and releases from an overtop arm slot. Produced accurate throws to the bag with on line carry, topping at 71 mph with a best workout pop time of 2.02. Also pitched smooth tempo delivery with good rhythm. Lower half drives on line to plate creating solid downhill plane. Extended arm stab at separation and releases from an overtop arm slot with good extension to finsih. Fastball has some arm side life in the upper 70's. Flahsed a changeup in the low 70's that had downward fading actions when located at the bottom of the zone.
