Jayden Zurita is a 2017 MIF/ with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Burlington, IA who attends West Burlington. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 6.82 sixty yard dash. Primary middle infielder with fundamentally sound footwork while working to and surrounding the baseball. Flashed good range to each side with athletic actions while working through baseball. Clean glove actions while funneling the baseball out front with efficient glove to hand exchanges. Topped at 80 mph across the infield while producing good carry to the bag with accuracy. Right handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance. Lower half shows occasional line actions to contact creating some shift. Extended, loose path to contact with a downhill swing plane through extension. Lets the baseball travel to a deeper position and shows the willingness to hit the baseball to opposite field. Shows best swing plane with occasional leverage when attacking baseball out front and working to the middle of the field. Good student as well.
