Luke Evans is a 2019 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-10 140 lb. frame from Solana Beach, CA who attends Torrey Pines HS. Medium frame with young, slender, athletic present build; good projection remaining. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.66 seconds. Sets up to hit from slightly open, upright stance with high back elbow set. Wrapped start, hands stay on inside-out path, extends well through contact, makes consistent contact up the middle and to the opposite field. Moves well to the ball in the infield, light and smooth footwork with bounce, clean at ball with good hands, charges well, has very good defensive instincts, threw accurately across the diamond up to 70 MPH. Pitched as well, shorter arm action to high 3/4 slot, good arm speed, generated cutting action on fastball which worked 72-74 MPH and touched as high as 77. Showed CB with 11/5 shape and good depth. Very good student.
