Dallas Jones is a 2017 C/3B with a 5-7 185 lb. frame from Bakersfield, CA who attends Bakersfield Christian. Medium frame with strong, burly build throughout body. Very good strength throughout. Ran 60 yard dash in 8.17 seconds. Coils hips into load when hitting, hits from upright and narrow stance, uncoils well with some torque into swing. Inside-out swing path with intent to hit the ball to the opposite field. Solid overall contact ability. Worked out defensively behind the plate. Shows balanced, flexible set behind the plate, receives well and has solid transfer ability. Shows good fundamental footwork out of crouch and into throws, popped as low as 2.28 seconds. Pitched as well, employs longer arm action up to mid three quarters slot, swings front hip way open and delivers offline as a result, pulls across through release and gets cutting action on FB, working 68-72 MPH. Also mixed in slider and could throw strikes with both pitches. Good student.
