Andy Smith is a 2018 OF/LHP with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Carrollton, GA who attends Carrollton High School. Small frame, speed is an asset, ran a very impressive 6.87 for the sixty yard dash. Speed will play in game. A primary outfielder, quick feet to the ball, arm quickness is evident, gets on top of throws, extended three-quarter arm slot, fields the ball out in front, throws have some carry to them. On the mound, high three-quarter arm slot, tight release, threw from the third base side of the rubber, pounded the strike zone, two different fastballs with cut and arm side run, fastball sat from 70-76 mph, threw curveballs for strike outs when ahead in the count, ground ball pitcher, good lower half use and core use, good balance, under control delivery. Offensively, high hand set, high back elbow, linear swing plane, toe tap. Good student.
