Jason Starrels is a 2017 RHP/OF with a 5-10 200 lb. frame from Pacific Palisades, CA who attends Brentwood HS. Starrels has a medium sized frame with a thick strong build. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a short arm action. Starrels has a directional delivery and finishes to the plate well. He has developing arm speed and gets some run on his fastball. He throws an 11/5 curveball with some shape and spin to it. He also throws a change up at 69 MPH with some sink. Starrels pitched to contact and located his fastball well in his outing. He threw 3 pitches for strikes and mixed and matched his pitches well. Defensively he showed developing actions in the outfield with some arm strength up to 81 MPH. At the plate Starrels starts with a slightly open stance and a high hand set. He shifts into contact and showed some pop when he squared it up. Good student.
