Jan Melendez is a 2025 RHP with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Coamo, PR who attends Colegio Angel David. Nice pitcher's build with long arms and legs and plenty of room to get stronger. High leg raise delivery from a short side step start, long and whippy arm action from a low 3/4's arm slot, can get out over his front side better at release, rotational mechanics down the mound. Fastball worked in the low 80's and topped out at 83 mph, gets good run and sink at times but will straighten up in the zone. Adds and subtracts from a mid-70's breaking ball, works the bigger curveball more often than the shorter slider. Good chance to keep improving. Very good student.
