Zeke O'Connell is a 2019 OF/RHP, 3B with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Newton, MA who attends St John's Preparatory High School. Large frame, lean, athletic build, long limbs, and plenty of room to fill out physically with additional strength. Posted a 7.31 time in the 60 yard dash and showed a quick first step out of the box. Primary outfielder, fielded the ball open, quick first step to the ball, with good footwork to it, and good arm strength with carry up to 83 mph. At the plate, started with a wide base, open stance, high hand set, and a high back elbow. Inconsistent swing path, flashed ability to get hands through, generates extension, and showed an up the middle approach. Also pitched, worked exclusively from the stretch, utilized a closed setup, deception, hid the ball well, medium arm action, and threw from a high three quarter arm slot. Worked quickly on the mound, repeats delivery and worked aggressively inside on hitters. Fastball showed good arm side life at 77-82/84 mph. Slider showed depth and developing tightness as well as a changeup with slight sink. Good student. Named to Top Prospect List.
