A bit of an unknown on the national scene as he didn’t do any of the main summer circuit events, Cabbage made noise in several Perfect Game events, earning All Tournament Team honors in all four tournaments he attended last summer. Coveted by college recruiters who saw him play on the prospect laden Team Elite Roadrunners team, the sweet swinging Cabbage eventually chose to stay in-state with a commitment to the University of Tennessee in the SEC.

A three-sport star who gave up football last fall, the 6-foot-3 Cabbage brought his athleticism to the hard court this winter and made his presence felt with this
dunk. Of course his main sport of both the present and future is baseball. Pitching last summer and showing a fastball up to 87 mph shows that Cabbage has the raw arm strength to play third base at the next level, and should he make a positional move he has the power in his bat to play to play wherever.

Swinging it from the left side, if the future Volunteer doesn’t catch your attention with his physically projectable build then he certainly will with a couple of swings. Showing both fluidity and balance in his swing with a smooth hand path and present strength, Cabbage has a chance to hit for both average and power in the future.

With a knowledge of the strike zone, Cabbage already shows the ability to drive the ball to all parts of the field without trying to do too much in his swing. In one game this summer Cabbage shot both gaps in back-to-back at-bats rattling hard hit balls off of each of the two 355-foot markers. Sporting a frame that can take on additional strength, Cabbage’s power will also continue to take steps forward as he already shows a consistent feel for the barrel of the bat.
