Matt Gonsalves is a 2022 C/RHP, OF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from San Ramon, CA who attends Dougherty Valley. Medium frame with an already filling out build showing strength throughout. Ran a 7.15 second sixty yard dash. Primary Catcher, sitting down in his stance as he stays square to the mound. Flexibility showing as he spotted up on the corners proving he could frame the baseball. Catch and release skills showing as he gained ground on throw downs. Accurate around the bag as he recorded a pop time of 2.25 seconds during drills. Secondary Outfielder, showing good reads to the baseball as he worked with short choppy steps. Gathered out front and carried momentum into throws as he was accurate to the bag. Carry showing as he threw it 85 mph. Right-Handed Hitter, starting balanced while in line in his stance with high hands. Small leg lift to stride as he creates separation. Fires the hips and hands while staying linear through the zone creating bat speed. Proved he could generate backspin and drive it deep gap to gap. Very loud contact when he timed it up. Projects even more power down the road. Outstanding Student. Named to NorCal Workout Camp Top Prospect List.
